Diabetes is growing fast- Dr. Latha Balasubramani

Rotary club of Coimbatore Central in association with GKNM hospital launched the Nalam program as part of their initiative to spread cancer and diabetes awareness. The function was conducted in the presence of Dr. Ragupathy Velusamy, CEO of GKNMH along with Rtn. R. Jayasankar, DRFC and Rtn. P.P. Lakshmanan AG RI Dist 3201. The event was organized at GKNMH Rural Health Centre under the Veerapandi Panchayat.
The main aim of this launch was to provide quality health service to people of rural areas with women in particular being focused upon. Speaking at the event were also Dr. Latha Balasubramani and Dr. R. Parimala who explained how women in rural areas feel shy to opt for a health check-up due to social stigma. Dr. Parimal, Head of Rural health care GKNM, Veerapandi thanked Rotary and GKNM for providing a vehicle for transporting patients from one place to another while stressing that everyone should avail this free service for a disease free environment.
