GKNM to provide Novel Therapy for Children Heart Surgery

G Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital (GKNM) here today (12.2.2018) inaugurated Novel Therapy (Nitric Oxide) for Children Heart Surgery donated by Rotary Coimbatore Central to GKNM Paediatric Cardiothoracic.

GKNM also becomes the first hospital in Tamil Nadu to partner with the USA based NGO Children’s Heart Link for Children Heart Surgery. However, Nitric Oxide therapy is required to treat very sick children and GKNM is considered to have become the very few hospitals in India to have this facility.

While speaking at the occasion Dr.Ragupathy Veluswamy, Chief Executive Officer, GKNM said “This facility would help the sick children to get the surgery which could make them grow strong & healthy. I thank Rotary Coimbatore Central and everyone who were involved in this project’” he said.

Prof. Joseph A Dearani, Chair, Division of Cardiac Surgery, Mayo Clinic, Rtn. N.Damodharan, Rotary Coimbatore Central, Dr.R.Vijayakumar, Director, Paediatric & Congenital Heart Disease, GKNM, Dr. P.Ramachandran, GKNM and Dr.P.Chandrasekar, Chair, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, GKNM were all present.
