CM Stalin appeals Centre to increase daily Remdesivir supply to Tamil Nadu

Under the direction of the newly elected Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K.Stalin, the State Government has opened multiple centers across the State to provide Remdesivir drug, which is considered essential one in covid-treatment, at nominal cost.

The State receives 7000 vials of the drug per day with the support of centre. Chief Minister M.K.Stalin spoke with Union Minister Piyush Goyal over phone on Monday and requested him to allow TN to receive 20,000 vials per day, as the current nos is insufficient to meet the needs of patients in the State.

Many doctors are prescribing remdesivir to patients after analyzing their condition. To prohibit the black-market forces from selling this crucial drug for higher price in the dark markets, the State took measures, to make it available at a nominal price. CM Stalin appealed to the centre to allocate 20,000 vials of the drug per day so that it could be catered to the needs of patients in private and government hospitals.
