A Seven-Day Faculty Development Program is being organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya virtually. It focuses on ‘Adaptive success strategies for NAAC’.
It began on Tuesday and it will go on till the next Tuesday (Dec 1, 2020). Vanitha, Former Registrar i/c, Bharathiar University, was the Resource Person for the Inaugural session.
She spoke on the topic, ‘Outcome Based Education’ and she highlighted that the task before the teachers is to prepare the students for employment. The students have to undergo personal development and acquire the skills like learning to know, learning to do and learning to live together with values and right attitude. She stressed on the 5 D’s – Define Outcomes, Design Curriculum, Deliver Instructions, Document Result and Determine Advancement.
The differences between Traditional Model and Transformation Model were also highlighted. She reminded the teachers to include Induction Programs, Bridge Courses, Case Studies, Group Discussions and Small Projects under Outcome Based Education.
