Lesser-known symptoms of Heart Disease

– Dr.Prem Krishna, Cardiologist, PSG Hospitals

It is a good thing that people are getting to know about the major symptoms of heart attack but there are many symptoms that are taken very lightly. Normally we think that heart attack will come as chest pain at the center of the chest and spread to the left hand.

For some people, it may appear as physical tiredness, gas trouble, frequent belching, food indigestion, excessive sweating without any reason, burning sensation on Jaw and throat region while walking chest pain radiating to right arm and sudden onset breathing difficulties. These symptoms mostly occur in diabetic patients. These patients have the risk of encountering heart attack suddenly.  So, if any of these occur, then it is high time that the patient consults the doctor at once.

Beside this, for heart failure the lesser known symptoms are swelling in legs region above the ankle, bloated belly, breathing difficulty, unusual weight gain and lesser urine-passing.  When these symptoms occur, the patient should consult the doctor.
