Azim Premji Foundation & Wipro contribute Rs. 1,125 crore in India’s fight against Covid-19

The Azim Premji Foundation along with Wipro Limited and Wipro Enterprises has committed Rs 1,125 crore to help the country in its fight against Covid-19.

The donation will be a catalyst in aiding the medical and service fraternity and helping the public, especially the poor and needy who find it a great challenge to procure basic needs.

“Wipro Ltd, Wipro Enterprises Ltd and Azim Premji Foundation have together committed Rs 1125 crore towards tackling the unprecedented health and humanitarian crisis arising from the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak,” said a joint press release issued by Wipro and Azim Premji Foundation.

In the total Rs 1,125 crore, Wipro Limited has pledged Rs 100 crore while Wipro Entreprises has committed Rs 25 crore. The lion’s share, Rs 1,000 crore share comes from the Azim Premji Foundation.”

These sums are in addition to the annual CSR activities of Wipro, and the usual philanthropic spends of the Azim Premji Foundation,” the release added.
