Swadesi Sarvodaya Sangh collaborates with Govt to feed migrant workers during lockdown

As the country is facing an unprecedented challenge in communities and everywhere affected by the growing COVID- 19 pandemic, The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of MSME, Government of India and Swadesi Sarvodaya Sangh, Coimbatore have collaborated to distribute of food packets preferably to migrant workers traveling on highways.

Swadesi Sarvodaya Sangh, Neelambur, Coimbatore, for the past 3 days has been successfully delivering food packets and essential products for the migrant workers and the needy who are stranded on the highways  due to lockdown related to Novel coronavirus.

The food was prepared at Swadesi Sarvodaya Sangh, Neelambur and was distributed at Avinashi Road Sulur pirivu, Opp. Hotel LeMeridian, Neelambur-Cochin Bye pass road, Irugur-SiHS Colony and at Chinniyampalayam ward 10.

Around 332 food packets containing poori and masala along with cotton mask, soap oil and kapasura water was distributed on 30.03.2020, followed by 1200 nos of poori masala, 650 packets of lemon and tomato rice along with soap oil, kapasura water, cotton mask and also  milk powder for children on 31.03.2020.

With day by day the number of migrant workers increasing, the Sangh had 650 nos of food packets of veg biryani, tomato rice along  with cotton mask, kapasura water and milk powder distributed at Neelambur Avinashi road Sulur pirivu and 150 food  packets distributed in Ganapathy area on 01.04.2020.  The service will continue for next few days, a statement from the Sangh said.
