CPC conducts Productivity Conclave 2020

The Coimbatore Productivity Council organised its 10th Edition of Productivity Conclave on 20.2.2020 at Le Meridien.

‘Productivity- Keeping Pace with Technological Changes’ was the theme of the conclave.   

K.Muthukumar, President, CPC welcomed the gathering. While welcoming the gathering, Muthukumar said that the chief guest is in CPC’s conclave for the 2nd time. He said that he is a wonderful speaker with outstanding technical knowledge that reaches the common man.

He highlighted the need to move with people and wished that the current generation of employees, students to form a network with people in the conclave including the speakers and learn from their experiences.

Dr.N.Vivek, Chairman – Productivity Conclave 2020 briefed about the event.Talking about the conclave, Dr.Vivek said the idea of organizing the conclave was the brainchild of Past President of CPC, Shri.Sethu who envisioned that the best practices across the world should come to Coimbatore Industries.

He said that the focus of the conclave will be on Internet of Things, Theory of Constraints and Work Study for Capacity Assessment.

Dr.Kavidasan, Past President, CPC offered Felicitation. He said that in the competitive world, the spectators will never be remembered. He said Changes will be in industry and in everything and those who resist changes will fall, the ones who accept changes live and those who create changes grow.

He encouraged the participants to implement their creative ideas to address the changes in Industry. “You will be challenged and criticised but dont give up.”, he said.

Dr.V.Veerapan, Co-founder and President, Tessolve Group, Bengaluru was the Chief Guest.

The Chief Guest’s address focused on Industry 4.0. He mentioned that Vision is important for any company or entrepreneur. “Dont think small, think Big”, only then we can achieve something bigger than smaller aspirations.

He went on to speak about IoT. “Connectivity and Communication is very important in the world”, he said and briefed that more than voice, data transfer is increasing. 65% of all communication is voice, he added.

Future generations are becoming smarter than us. He mentioned about how 5G is going to revolutionize connectivity. ” 5G can handle larger no. of customers, give 100 times the speed.” He said the wireless type of connectivity is increasing and improving year by year. He said it will take 4 to 5 years for India to enter 5G Connectivity but once it enters, 5G will change the way we are connected.

He mentioned that the CAGR for 2020-30’s EV and Battery Sector mentions that the rise in this field will be 43.13%. He said more than 100+ companies are operating in India towards EV, which will disrupt the Automobile Industry, especially disrupt the component and parts manufactures.

He said Autonomous Vehicles are soon to arrive which will alter the way the industry.

About Cloud Computing, he mentioned that even processing works are done in the cloud these days, and the industries need to consider this virtual space and see the advantages they have over physical storages.

He briefed about how A.I., Machine Learning, Blockchain Big Data, Automation and Drones will benefit the industry.

A.I. and M.L.will make machines more intelligent and act smarter, Blockchain will be a foolproof ledger benefiting the financial sector and Big Data will add value to the healthcare.

He stated that there is huge scope in Waste Management sector and Energy sector. He hinted that companies will focus on conserving energy than creating them.

He wished the current and future entrepreneurs to be successful and contribute through CSR.

Dr.K.Chitra while proposing Vote of Thanks stressed that Industry 5.0 is slowly knocking the doors to further faster progresses and said that all these developments should add value to customers.
