The Department of Mathematics at Dr. N. G. P. Arts and Science College recently, organized a National Conference on Applications of Statistics in Biological Sciences. Principal, V. Rajendran gave the Welcome Address. The Guest speaker, for the occasion was P.Tirupathi Rao Padi, Pondicherry University, who threw light on Stochastic Modelling of Scaling Measures for Evalution of Treatment Effectiveness. P.R. Muthuswamy, Director, Dr .N. G. P. Educational Institutions, shared his perception about the significance of statistics.
In the first session, Patil Santhosh Ganapati, TNAU, discussed about Applications of Statistics in Life Sciences and the next session was taken over by Sahana Prasad, Christ University, who shared her views on Use of Statistical tools in Biological Sciences. The last session was headed by A. Loganathan, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, who enlightened students by speaking about Regression Models in Biological Research. The Vote of thanks was proposed by R.Sowrirajan, HOD Maths Dept.
