Banks to go on strike from Jan. 8th-9th

People looking to visit banks may have to wait for two as several Bank Employees Association have decided to go on strike from January 8th-9th. The nationwide strike has been called by central trade unions following Anti-worker government policies. There are some key facts one needs to be aware of.

Bank of Baroda which was recently merged with two other PSU banks has warned its employees stating that if its employees join the strike, the public in general will have to undergo a lot of inconvenience while Allahabad bank has informed that it is taking necessary steps to ensure smooth functioning of things during the strike.

Just, in case the strike is successful it will be the 4th bank strike in the last one month. On December 21 and 26, bank employees had sat on two strikes demanding wage revision and cancelling the bank merger plan. The strikes earlier had hit the banking sector badly across India since both strikes came within a span of 14 days.
