Trouble for India; in-form Shaw injured

India’s opener P.Shaw injured his left ankle while fielding during the 3rd day of the tour game against Cricket Australia XI at the SCG. The 18 year old was carried off the field and was later taken to hospital for scans. The incident happened when he was trying to dismiss Max Bryant off an Ashwin delivery at deep mid-wicket but unfortunately twisted his ankle in the process.

There are no updates of the injury as of now but India will be hoping for the best considering the fact that he was in good touch. Shaw had made a successful start to his Test career with a century and a half-century in the two Test series at home against Windies.

Shaw and KL Rahul opened the innings for India in the warm up game, but with Rahul poor form continuing batting coach Sanjay Bangar said one of the opening slots was up for grabs. If Shaw isn’t available, India have an experienced option in M Vijay for the first Test starting on December 6 at Adelaide.
