Lifetime Achievement Award for SIET Chairman

The 54th Engineers Day and Engineering Teachers’ Day together celebrated as Indo-Serbia Engineers Day on the eve of Bharat Ratna Sir M Visveswaraiah’s 160th Birthday was organised by Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA)-Committee for Space Programme Development (CSPD), Republic of Serbia-TSC Technologies- World CanSat/Rocketry Consortium (WCRC) of over 75 Countries.

The event was organised as a Virtual Awards Ceremony in which S.Thangavelu, Chairman of Sri Shakti Institute of Engineering and Technology was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award. S.Thangavelu has been recognized for his contributions in the field of education, science and technology and has been conferred the lifetime achievement award.

He adorns several roles as a successful entrepreneur, a charitable philanthropist, a prolific researcher and a passionate educator. He has been instrumental in launching a satellite into orbit by the staff and students of a college in the city for the first time. He is currently passionately involved in motivating the school students to design and develop a satellite by 2022-23. The award has been bestowed on him for his contributions in the field of science and technology.

The virtual awards ceremony was attended by K.R. Venugopal,  Vice Chancellor, Bangalore University, Bangalore, Prof. R. M. Vasagam, Former VC, Anna University and Chancellor, MGR University, Mylswamy Annadurai, Outstanding Scientist, Project Director, Chandrayaan 1 & 2, Programme Director, Mangalyaan, Chairman, National Design and Research Forum amongst several others. Awards were also presented to six eminent engineers and scientists who have excelled in their field.
