Agri Minister visits TNAU, inspects research activities

M.R.K. Panneerselvam, Minister for Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu inspected TNAU’s research activities, various technologies and improved-varieties of crop developed by the University. 

During the visit, the minister has declared opened the Vermicompost unit, Pellatization of Forage crops for production of nutritive fodder pellets for enhancing livestock productivity. He also visited the Ultra High-Density Mango planting and witnessed the demonstration of Drone  Technology in Agriculture for spraying pesticide and nutrients at TNAU Orchard. 

Finally, he inspected the Arid fruit zone orchard suitable for dryland and renovated botanical garden at the University. Professor N.Kumar, Vice Chancellor, TNAU accompanied the minister and explained the various activities of TNAU. 

Along with Minister for Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare,  C.Samayamoorthy, IAS, Agricultural Production Commissioner and Secretary,  A.Annadurai, IAS, Director of Agriculture, R.Brindha Devi, IAS, Director of  Horticulture & Plantation Crops, M.Vallalar, IAS, Commissioner of Agricultural  Marketing and Agribusiness and R.Murugesan, Chief Engineer (Agri. Engg.) participated in the program.
