Dr.NGP IT discusses updates in recycling of plastic-wastes

Although Plastic wastes are a grave threat to the environment and society, if they are properly recycled and reused, they can provide certain value to many processes.

The Department of Civil Engineering, Dr.N.G.P. Institute of Technology organized a National Level Virtual Conference on Recycling and Reuse of Plastic Waste recently. It was partially funded by Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Chennai.

The Conference focuses to bring collectively academics and commanding enterprise experts in the sectors of engineering and technology in a collaborative gathering, to deliberate over the most recent advances and innovations being made in their respective fields.

Prof.Shantha Kumar, Dean, Department of Civil Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, spoke on ‘Waste Management Approaches: A Perspective on Plastic Wastes’

Uma, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Polytechnic College spoke on ‘Five R-s for Plastic Free World’. It was followed by paper presentation in the afternoon session.

The core objective of the conference was to provide overall knowledge on Recycling of plastic, plastic waste Management and Reuse of plastic. The advanced and innovative Techniques for recycle and reuse of plastic waste discussed in detail. This event also provided opportunity for the public to know about the ill effects of plastic wastes.
