Schemes & various incentives for MSME entrepreneurs explained at CODISSIA

The Department of MSME, District Industries Centre, Govt of TN and CODISSIA joined hands to conduct an awareness session on what are the various beneficial schemes and incentives available for MSME Entrepreneurs and their company on 28.11.2019 at CODISSIA Food Court Hall.

This event is decreed by the Tamil Nadu Govt to be conducted on all Districts to provide awareness on available benefits from the government to entrepreneurs and those who have idea to start a MSME concern.

Shanmuga Siva, Manager (Materials) District Industries Center, Coimbatore said that for those MSME entrepreneurs who are seeking for their building plan approval, the Govt has introduced ‘Single Window Clearances’ option.

He said earlier it used to consume a lot of time for getting approval but now when an entrepreneur registers the plan in “easybusiness.tn.gov.in/msme”, they will receive an id and pin. After that they should submit a combined application form to whatsoever Department they need to get clearance from like industrial safety, fire, TANGEDCO, Pollution control board and other local bodies.

He said they will have to submit a hardcopy to the respective departments. The approval will come much faster than earlier process.

He explained about the various subsidies available for MSME like capital subsidy on machinery, power tariff subsidy and subsidy for purchasing generator.

He mentioned that when a MSME company obtains a quality certification like ISO, ISI, GMP or any other international certification, the consultancy charges they made in the process will be given back by the Govt.

He said if a MSME concern has made an energy audit with an agency that’s accredited by the government , 50% of the energy audit cost spent will be reimbursed (to maximum of 0.75 Lac INR)

He also spoke briefly about MSME Facilitation Council in Coimbatore which is there to facilitate speedy settlement of outstanding payments from buyers to MSME concerns. He welcomed the entrepreneurs to make use of the council if they face any delay in due settlements.

It was also mentioned that subsidies will be given to MSME Entrepreneurs who are from SC/ST Communities, Transgender community and women.

Representatives from COSIEMA, TACT, COTMA and a few aspiring entrepreneurs submitted their needs, issues faced and demands in front of the dignitaries. They were discussed in the program and ideas and suggestion were given.

Addressing the questions of aspiring entrepreneurs, Rajamani, District Collector said “all businesses will have to face all challenges”.  He advised that those who wish to start a MSME concern should have a clear understanding of the business and prepare themselves for the challenges mentally as well as technically.

He said it is good to know that people have dreams to start a business. But cautioned them to not sit inside their dream but come out and start working for it.

He stated that those with ideas to start a business should sit with the District Industries Centre in Coimbatore who will provide the available facilities and options for initiating their business.

He addressed that there is a belief among public that banks wouldn’t provide loans. He dismissed it and said the aspirants must approach the banks first, apply for it and qualify for loans.  He said their projects should convince the bankers as the bank personnel will be very cautious before sanctioning a loan.

He said when they sit and get guidance from District Industries Centre, they will enable talks with LDM for what financial options are available.

He suggested that an interaction session between successful entrepreneurs of Covai and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Earlier, R. Ramamurthy, President, CODISSIA addressed the gathering. He conveyed that the Atal Incubation Center in CODISSIA is nearing its completion and it will be finished in 4-5 months. He said it will create a big difference in Coimbatore. He conveyed that every Friday, there is an entrepreneurial development meet in CODISSIA between 2 p.m and 3 p.m.
