Krishnas and Radhas join in the celebrations at Ananya’s NanaNani

The spirit of festivity and devotion filled the air at Ananya’s Nana Nani Homes as senior citizens came together to celebrate Krishna Jayanti with great zeal and enthusiasm. This annual tradition, cherished by the residents, included a special pooja that took place at the Sri Radhakrishna Temple in Ananya’s Nana Nani Homes Phase-3, located in Dhaliyur, Coimbatore. Uma Maheshwari Yuvaraj, Joint Managing Director of the Ananya Group, presided over the celebrations.

During the event, residents offered prayers to Lord Krishna, seeking his blessings for good health and happiness. Following the puja, there were various cultural programs, including music and dance performances, which the residents enjoyed. A feast of traditional South Indian dishes was added to the festivities, and in the evening, the Thangather Thiruveedi Ula procession took place.

What made this year’s celebration exceptional was the heartwarming sight of elderly residents dressing up as Lord Krishna and Radha, infusing the occasion with joy and vibrancy.

Uma Maheshwari Yuvaraj expressed her joy, stating, “In Tamil Nadu, we celebrate every festival with utmost enthusiasm. Among these celebrations, Krishna Jayanti holds a special place. At Nana Nani Homes Phase 3, we have a splendid Radha Krishna temple where we celebrate Krishna Jayanti in grand style. What’s truly remarkable is that our fathers and mothers are dressing up as Radha and Krishna. Typically, we see children in these costumes, but now, even in their golden years of life, our elders are doing so with great enthusiasm. They inspire others to watch and celebrate this Krishna Jayanthi. Their devotion and spirit bring immense satisfaction and happiness to our community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who dressed up as Radha and Krishna, making our home even more wonderful, vibrant, and filled with love and compassion. We wish everyone a good life and a joyous Krishna Jayanti.”

She also expressed her gratitude to the staff of Ananya’s Nana Nani Homes for their hard work in organizing the event.

Ananya’s Nana Nani Homes stands out for its commitment to creating a self-sustaining community that not only provides essential services but also hosts regular events during festivals, celebrating both religious fervour and art. It’s a place where residents support and uplift each other, making the golden years truly remarkable.

The Krishna Jayanti celebrations were a tremendous success, bringing joy and happiness to all who attended. They also served as a reminder of the importance of celebrating our cultural heritage and keeping our traditions alive.
