A calm guy on the cricket field, he has always preferred to be a shadow for his team rather than coming in front when the team wins.

The selectors have rested the former captain for the T20 games against Australia and West Indies which has left some fuming and others surprised. Well, Dhoni has always come down the order because of the fact that India was completely dependent on him to finish games but the current scenario suggests, he needs some time in the middle before going after the bowlers.
One must also keep in mind that V.Kohli is still in the nascent stages when it comes to taking decision in crunch games and with Dhoni by his side, it will certainly be a boost for everyone considering the fact that its young side who will represent the country in the 2019 World Cup.
