Walkaroo empowers Women through Project Uyarvu

Walkaroo Foundation, the CSR arm of the Walkaroo Group, launched project Uyarvu with Sharanalayam a charity, non-profit organization registered by the Tamil Nadu government.

The project was inaugurated by Vasanth Ramkumar, District Differently Abled Welfare Officer, Coimbatore.

With an aim to promote empowerment for destitute women, this project provides infrastructure and hands-on training for the women at the Sharanalayam campus. As part of the initiative, the women were given vocational training and were taught to weave cloth bags and to do screen printing. Walkaroo Foundation has carried out a number of programmes in the areas of education, empowerment, and infrastructure improvement with the goal of fostering socio economic upliftment, particularly in the lives of the needy.

Commenting on this project, V Noushad, Managing Director, Walkaroo Group , said via a press release ,”We are delighted and proud of our efforts to have been able to empower women with this project ”Uyarvu’’. The Walkaroo Foundation strongly believes that the future belongs to all of us and we as a foundation will continue to take steps to improve and promote a more equitable society.
