Kanimozhi tries to educate North about V. O. C.

In an attempt to educate the North about the significance of V. O. Chidambaram, a cherished Indian Freedom Fighter from the South, Member of Parliament and Women’s wing Secretary of DMK Kanimozhi Karunanidhi shared an interesting video about V.O.C.

The 2 minute 40 seconds long video’s content is in English and with Hindi subtitles, and it comes in the wake of the rejection of Tamil Nadu’s tableau for the Republic Day parade in New Delhi by “an expert committee”.

A disclaimer used in the video mentions that it was created solely to highlight the significance of Tamil Leaders in English with Hindi subs for a broader reach and better understanding.

The video goes on to convey that the voice against the Whites (British) tyranny rose from the South in the 1790s, and it highlights a short list of Freedom Fighters from Tamil Nadu.  It then cuts to the part where VOC’s fight against the British Imperialism is highlighted.

It shows how a man of enormous wealth gave his life and wealth to fight for his country’s freedom. VOC’s Swadeshi Movement, his effort to bring down the British’s maritime dominance, the injustice forced upon him are all crisply shared in that video with a nice ending – समझा (Understood?)
