Gifting Hope to fire victims for a decade

In 2012, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis and Ganga Hospitals joined together and started a medical project called ‘Hope After Fire’. Its core objective was to offer free Reconstructive Surgeries for the correction of deformities caused by burns due to fire accidents. In short, it is an act of generous medical service to the deserving in society.

The project has completed a decade, and in its ten years’ service, 1069 surgeries were performed, benefiting 640 patients at a project value of Rs.6,92,00,000 with 3 Rotary Foundation Global Grant to the tune of $550,000.

Celebrating the first decade of yeoman service, a humble gathering was held at Ganga Hospital. Rtn.Venkatesh, Director, Rotary International was the Chief Guest; Rtn.Rajashekar, DG, RI Dist 3201; Rathinam, CEO, Milky Mist, Rtn.Gulan A Vahanvaty, Trustee, Rotary Foundation were the Guest of Honor.

Dr. J.G. Shanmuganathan, Chairman and Kanakavalli Shanmuganathan MD of Ganga Hospital graced the occasion with their presence, along with Dr.Raja Sabapathy, Director of the hospital, Rtn.Palaniappan, President, Rtn.Dr.Raja Shanmuga Krishnan, Chair-Community Services and Rtn.Bhaskar, Secretary, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis.
