Logo of Coimbatore International Short Film Festival revealed

Renowned film actor “Oru Thalai Ragam” Ravinder recently visited the city to launch the logo of Coimbatore International short film festival (CISFF) that held at COINDIA Hall.

The event was organized by Malayalee Suhurth Sangam (MASS) in association with Kochin Metro Short Film Festival (KMSFF), Middle East.

The date of the International Film Festival will be decided soon, said one of the organizers.

The Competition will be held in two categories, campus short films and short films for general categories. The winners will get Cash Awards and Golden Dove Trophy.

Before the main events, workshops, seminars on film making, short film festivals in various college campus, diaspora, women’s short film festivals and exhibition of Kurdhi’s films will be organized to create vast awareness within the city and the college campuses, a statement said.

With MASS President Adv.Pradeep Kumar presiding, Jotty Kurian, the General Convener of CISFF welcomed the gathering.

The Chief Guest, Actor Ravinder was nominated as Director of CISFF. While speaking at the occasion, he stressed on the importance of the festival and possibilities of creating young film makers through this workshops, seminars and short film festivals.

‘Coimbatore is having all potential to create an independent film making hub as there is lot of young talents spread over various college campuses within the city,’ he said.

He also had interactions with the students and faculties present from Visual Communication Departments of various colleges.

Vice President Mohan Kumar, V.S.Subash, Join Secretary, Maya Thulasidaran, Women Wings Chairperson Anita Subash, Secretary C.K.Ajaykumar, participated.
