After delivering sensational hits like Jigarthanda, Petta, Director Karthik Subbaraj’s next flick that will arrive in Netflix on June 18, is creating all the hype; probably for 3 reasons – The Director, The Actor and The Genre!
“Jagame Thandhiram is my dream film that was made with the ambition of telling a gripping story about a globally prevalent issue through a locally rooted character in a most interesting and entertaining way,” Karthik said.
Karthik Subbaraj has a strong fan following for his young, energetic and fresh approach towards film-making. His movies have all had fabulous reviews. So, the expectations over the director’s creations get higher after every film.
He had shared that this would not be one of those regular gangster flicks, in an interview last year. “There will be a mix of genres. It begins like it is a gangster film out as it proceeds you will find it to be more than that”, the director conveyed.
Karthik pitched the story to Actor Dhanush, after he completed Iraivi, and Dhanush was impressed with the character ‘Suruli’ and the story.
The movie’s major scenes are set in London, and Karthik told that Dhanush has given his usual mind-blowing performance as an actor, as he is very much attached to the character.
The film also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Kalaiyarasan, Joju George and James Cosmo in lead roles. The movie will make its worldwide debut on the 18th of June, 2021, exclusively on Netflix. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music and the movie is produced by YNOT Studios and Reliance Entertainment.
