The legislative assembly members of AIADMK have elected the party’s Joint-Coordinator Edappadi K.Palaniswami as its leader at the Assembly, unanimously on Monday, after a three-hour discussion at the party’s headquarters in Rayapettai. The official Twitter account of AIADMK said in a tweet that EPS has been unanimously elected as the Leader of the opposition in TN Assembly.
A joint-press release by the party’s co-ordinator O.Paneerselvam and Co-ordinator Edappadi K.Palaniswami was issued on Monday following the meeting. In it, it was mentioned that under the leadership of the two heavyweights, the meeting of the MLAs belonging to AIADMK was held and the decision to elect EPS as their leader in the Assembly was made.
It was signed by both Edappadi K.Palaniswami and O.Paneerselvam. A similar meeting took place on Friday, where both OPS and EPS staked claim to be the leader. The meeting ended without a conclusion. Sources reported that Panneerselvam left the headquarters immediately after the meeting got over on Monday.
