Centre to support States with additional vaccines within the next 3 days

Government of India has been supporting the nationwide vaccination drive by providing COVID Vaccines free of cost to the States and UTs. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare conveyed on Monday that the Central Govt. has  so far provided nearly 18 crore vaccine doses (17,93,57,860) to States/UTs Free of Cost. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 16,89,27,797 doses (as per data available at 8 am today).

More than 1 crore COVID Vaccine doses (1,04,30,063) are still available with the States/UTs to be administered. Furthermore, more than 9 lakh (9,24,910) vaccine doses will be received in addition by the States/UTs within the next 3 days.

According to the data from the Ministry of Health, Tamil Nadu has received 76,43,010 doses from the Centre till today (10.5.2021) 8.a.m., and has made a total consumption of 67,64,573 doses.

Out of the total vaccines given by the Centre, the State of Tamil Nadu has 8.78 lakh vaccines doses in hand, at the same time it is among the States that have made more than 4% wastages.
