September 14 is celebrated as Hindi Diwas (Hindi Day) to commemorate the adoption of Hindi as one of the official languages of India. Velammal Nexus celebrated Hindi Diwas virtually on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. to mark the importance of the country’s most widely spoken language – Hindi.
Naveen Kumar Gupta, Hindi Translator at Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence, Tamil Nadu presided the event. He provided insight on Atmanirbhar Bharat and importance of Hindi while addressing the virtual participants.
The viewers were oriented about the importance of Hindi language and how celebrating this day each year helps in sustaining traditional values and glorifying them to reinforce the importance of language. Students of Velammal performed group songs, dances and gave speeches highlighting the value of Hindi.
