The NSS Cell of Bharathiar University organized Tree-Planting Program on Monday in connection with World Environment Day 2020. The event was held at the NSS Office premises, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr.P.Kaliraj planted the saplings.
He delivered a short speech in which he conveyed the importance of tree-planting and stressed the need to reduce environmental pollution. He shared that Bharathiar University is maintained as a pollution free green campus.
Registrar (i/c) Dr.K.Murugan, Syndicate members of Bharathiar University – Dr.Manimekalan, Research Director, Bharathiar University, Dr.Murugavel, President, Teaching Association, Sivakumar, Secretary, Non-Teaching Association and other staff and students planted the saplings.
The arrangements for this event was made by Dr.R.Annadurai, NSS Program Coordinator (i/c) and Dr.Ramesh, PRO (i/c), Bharathiar Univ.
