Kashmir’s most wanted terrorist killed in encounter

Riyaz Naikoo, the operational commander of terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen was killed on Wednesday by the Indian Security Forces. His presence in Beighpora in Awantipora of Kashmir was tipped off to the security agency and on late Tuesday the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF Jawans a Cardon and Search Operation was begun.

On Wednesday morning when security forces were making a door to door search, they were fired upon and that shootout was retaliated by the Indian Security forces. Riyaz Naikoo was reported to be close to Pakistan-based Hizbul Chief Syed Salahuddin who was declared a Global Terrorist by USA in 2017.

Riyaz Naikoo was a Mathematics Teacher who later joined Hizbul Mujahideen in 2012. He had a Rs.12 lakh bounty on his head placed by Ministry of Home Affairs. He is known for his sharp planning and execution.
