Antibody that attacks & neutralizes Coronavirus developed in Israel

Naftali Bennett, Defence Minister of Israel said on Tuesday that scientists and researchers at Institute of Biological Research (IIBR) have developed an antibody to the coronavirus and are in the process of patenting it.

A statement from Bennett’s office mentioned that this antibody has completed its developmental stage. It has the potential to attack the Coronavirus in a monoclonal way and can neutralize it within the bodies of those ill patients. Further details about the next line of action were revealed in the statement. The Institute will patent their invention and approach international companies for commercial production.

It was reported in the media that Israel’s IIBR’s top scientists studied the virus-sample that was obtained from Japan, Italy and other countries. In a specially secured courier the samples were brought to IIBR in a -80 Celsius condition. More than fifty scientists were working on finding a cure for the infection caused by the virus.

The statement didn’t however mention about the ‘human trials’.
