The Department of English, Rathinam College of Arts and Science organized a one day symposium on “Indian Themes in Indian Writing in English: Perspectives and Challenges” with the collaboration from Sahitya Akademi.
It was inaugurated by Dr.Sanjukta Dasgupta, Convener of English Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi and Dr.Sumanyu Satpathy Former Professor of Delhi University and an eminent writer of Indian Writing in English gave away the key note address for the symposium. Eminent Speakers and writers from various parts of India actively participated and presented their papers on the new perspectives and challenges in writing in English in India.
The symposium created an impact that the Indian writers who could creatively engage themselves and the English language is never been a barrier to Indians and mostly it helps the people of India to connect more closely to uphold the values and cultural differences. More than 200 students, scholars, and professors attended and benefited from the event.
