Forgotten traditional games cherished by school kids at PSG IM

Gone are those days when children played Snake and Ladders sitting on the floor with their fellow neighbor’s kids. This is the PUBG generation where even sport games are played in the digital realm.

To give today’s school kids, a refreshing day full of traditional games to enjoy and engage on, the PSG Institute of Management organized Tamil Traditional Games Exhibition on Jan 9, 2020 as a part of Coimbatore Vizha.

Held in the PSG IM Grounds, more than 300 school kids from PSG Public School, PSG Sarvajana and PSG Vedapatti found themselves lost in games like Uriyadi, pallankuzhi, pamparam, Nondi, Undivillu, 7 stones, Aadupuliyaatam, Goli, Pandi, Sack Race and the list could go on and on. The PSG IM students who organized this program had mentioned the origin of all these traditional games in the respective stalls near to which they were held. By taking such measures, the children had the opportunity to know more about these lost games.

The students found some games new and the volunteers from PSG IM demonstrated the games to them. A plethora of pleasure swirled the children who tried all the games and lost in time.
