JITO Covai aims to elevate society via education, empowerment & trade

The Coimbatore Chapter of Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) announced , through a press conference on 13.11.2019,  a line-up of plans and programs for the people of Coimbatore in the upcoming months which holds the promise of elevating Coimbatore’s children, youth, women and businessmen.

The newly elected Chairman of JITO Coimbatore Chapter Ramesh Bafna led the press conference and conveyed that JITO’s foundation and actions are built on three verticals – Education, Service and Trade. He conveyed that JITO under its education angle, provides financial assistance in the form of subsidized education loans.

Data from JITO mentions that through JELP (JITO Education Loan Program), the given subsidy so far is Rs 218 lacs to 2192 students on interest paid by them on educational loans from banks. Another huge support JITO has contributed in the education area is that it has given interest-free loans to meritorious students for their higher education. So far, Rs 680 lacs have been disbursed to more than 611 students in India.

Mr.Bafna also conveyed that through JITO’s Civil Service training academies, on a pan India level, 176 people are now in civil services, 214 people are in state government jobs and in bank jobs too. He said JITO Coimbatore Chapter has in plans to build a civil service training academy soon for all and also start a hostel facility for Jains.

He also mentioned that JITO conducts various entrepreneurship and skill development programs by bringing luminaries and special women empowerment programs for women of the locale to find their firm individual footing in society. Many programs for Youth empowerment are also made. Mr.Bafna mentioned that through JITO’s 8,500 sq ft advanced Incubation Facility in Mumbai many startups have been initiated and angel fundings have been received by the start-up proprietors.

JITO Coimbatore Chapter, which comprises of 143 members of the Jain entrepreneurs and illustrious men & women, is in Coimbatore since 2015 and aspires to contribute to the Jain community and extend the same care and support to the Coimbatoreans.  “We all are born and brought up here in Coimbatore. We are proud to say that Siruvani water is running in our body” said Bheru Jain, Secretary.

JITO Members conveyed that though the preference given is to Jains, their support will always be there for people of Coimbatore equally. The attended office bearers of Coimbatore Chapter of JITO include Bheru Jain, Chief Secretary, Alkesh Sheth, Joint Secretary, Jambu Kumar, Treasurer and Praveen Kawad, Joint Treasurer. Along with Chairman Ramesh Bafna and Vice Chairman Rakesh Mehta, this new office bearers will serve for the next 2 years ; from 2019-21.

It was conveyed that there are 2000+ Jain families in Coimbatore and in the coming days, JITO Cbe wishes to increase its members to serve the Jains and the Coimbatoreans. A member assured that Jains by enhancing their business will add more value to society.
