Photos of Kerala Floods shows unity of humanity

Kerala Culture Centre (KCC)joined hands with Thirussur Press Club and organized a photo exhibition focusing the fury of nature & survival. The exhibition is held in Kasthuri Sreenivasan Art Gallery and it was inaugurated on 18.10.2019 by B.Jayakrishnan I.P.S, Commandant, RAF 105 Battalion, Coimbatore.

Talking to Mohan Kumar, Vice President, KCC; we learned that out of the 300 outstanding pictures of the ferocity of the floods, taken by various media/press people, the best 120 were selected and are now wield in the walls of KST Art Gallery.

“These photos are a symbol of struggle and unity. A part of the sufferings that Kerala endured are man-made (like deforestation, encroachment, etc) . Everyone from RAF , Fishermen, Youth of Kerala and Neighboring cities, came together to rescue the affected. The photos depict the catastrophe and the rescue. This could happen anywhere and all KCC want to convey through this exhibition is to avoid everything that we could do, to preserve nature and its balance” said Mohan Kumar.

The event will be a two-day program. Students from various schools are visiting the exhibition and KCC feels delighted to bring awareness through art.
