Rotary Clubs in Coimbatore have taken serious efforts to improve the social infrastructures which the society needed. They have not just been the helping hands but the hands that reframe the future for the society to thrive. To celebrate the year-long accomplishments, Cascade 2019 – a Rotary District 3201 conference is being held in Le Meridien Hotel, Coimbatore. It is spearheaded by Rtn. A.V.Pathy, Rotary District Governor and orchestrated under the guidance of Rtn. C.J.Ragunathan, Chairman for Cascade Conference 2019.
The conference is a two-day event that began on Feb 16 and ends on Feb 17. The event will have discussion about RI District 3201’s projects, honoring the heroes of RI District 320 and special speeches. It featured 5 plenary sessions on the first day of the event. The key highlights of the first day included several inspiring speakers such as Swami Sukhabodhananda speaking on ‘Celebrate Life’, Journalist Sumanth C.Raman on ‘India and the Fake News Revolution’ and Actress Kasthuri on ‘Women – A force to reckon with’
During the first day Rtn.D.Ravishankar, a Banglore based realtor who donated a mammoth 14.7 Million USD (Rs.100 Crores) to Rotary was honored. For inspiring people through their field, Veteran actor Nassar was honored with a Vocational Excellence Award, Actress Sai Pallavi was bestowed with the Rising Diva Award, Cricketer Jagadeesan of CSK,IPL Team was conferred with Promising Cricketer Award and A.Dhanasekaran, Saffire Offset Printers Sivakasi was accorded the Vocational Excellence Award.
The second day (17.02.2019) will include another series of plenary sessions that will feature inspiring speakers such as IAKOKA N.Subramaniam, President, Nanneri Khazhagam, a special address from PDG.Rtn.Sharat Chandra, RI President’s Representative. During the event Dr. R.V.Ramani who has been chosen for Padma Sri Award will be felicitated.
The prime purpose of this event is to rejuvenate the resolute hearts and minds of the Rotarians and focus further on reframing the future for the betterment of the society.
