ELCE Hospital sets up Free Endoscopy Camp

Having evolved from two decades of experience, expertise, and commitment in the field of minimally invasive laparoscopic & endoscopic surgery, ELCE (Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Center of Excellence) specializes in laparoscopic surgeries and therapeutic endoscopies. ELCE Hospital recently conducted its 45th free screening endoscopy camp under the scheme Project YES of ELCE Medical Foundation in the village of Vilankurichi in association with Hirotec.

The journey of Project Yes was explained by ELCE Chairman and EMF Trustee Dr.P.S. Rajan who said, cancerous growth of stomach gives no symptoms until it becomes big in size. Hence, the only possible investigation by which the very early curable growths could be picked up is Screening Endoscopy which is advised for all people who are 40 years of age irrespective of symptoms. In other areas of intestine, since lumen is smaller, the symptoms occur early.

So far ELCE team has conducted 45 such camps, through which about 7200 people received free Endoscopy treatment. Among the 7200, there were 18 early stage cancers and thousands of food passage disorders that were diagnosed and treated by the 15 member team of ELCE. All type of gastric issues and Gynecological issues were given solution by four member’s doctor’s team headed by Dr.Rajan. Dr.Vidhya, Dr.Karthick and Dr.Rushin Kadeeja.
