Cyber-Security need of the hour

The Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry Coimbatore organized a meeting with Sumit Sharan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore city. The event began by observing a minute’s silence in memory of the martyred jawans at Kashmir followed by the Welcome Address by V.Lakshminarayanasamy, President, ICCIC.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Sumit Sharan, IPS.  He choose to speak on cybersecurity which is the need of the hour. He gave simple ways on  how once can avoid becoming a victim of cyber-crimes, while asking us to be extra careful at ATM’s, as well as when using POS machines at shops. He also asked us not to give our phone to strangers and avoid usage of Free Wi-Fi services. Explaining the reason behind not giving phone to strangers, he said, unknown pretend to dial a number but in reality they are creating a virus on the phone which gives hackers complete control. The Chief Guest also interacted with the audience and patiently listened to problems faced by commuters of the city on a daily basis.
