GEM Hospital, Coimbatore launched a Centre of Excellence for Minimally Invasive surgery for diseases of Anus on Wednesday.
Known across the country and beyond for providing reliable minimal access surgery for Hepatibiliary, Oesophagogastric, colorectal and bariatric, GEM now introduces one new specialty, minimally invasive proctology for diseases of anus piles, fissure and fistula.
Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor of TNAU did the launch of the COE and congratulated GEM for establishing this specialty center for a common problem that disturbs many people.
A press release mentioned that Dr.Palanivelu, Chairman, GEM Hospital explained the importance of the new specialty for diseases of Anus. He said that Minimally invasive technique is pain-free approach and takes only few hours to operate, and the patient can get back to routine work in a much faster time than it takes in conventional method.
