Covai all set to host 76th AIOC 2018 Conference at CODISSIA

With over 1500 trade delegates and 6,000 Ophthalmologists from various parts of country and across globe are expected to participate, Coimbatore will host one of the Asia’s biggest event, All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) also known as ‘AIOC 2018 Conference’ which is being organized by Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association & Coimbatore Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex from February 22 – 25.

According to a release, during the inaugural day of the conference, Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Odisha Skill Development Authority and Independent Director – Mindtree will be the Chief Guest.

Besides, Dr.B.K.Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Padmashri Dr.P.Namperumalsumy, Chairman, Emeritus Aravind Eye Care System Madurai will be the Guests of Honor.

AIOC 2018 is also organizing a Walkathon with Former India Cricket Captain Sourav Ganguly who will inaugurate the proceedings at 6.30 AM from CODISSIA on February 23.

On briefing the media, Chief Organizing Secretary Dr.V.Narendran said that this for the time Coimbatore is hosting the conference. ‘The four and half a day global level meet will be a boon to Ophthalmologists to get lots of info on the latest development and innovative ideas through international experts,’ he said.

‘The conference will cover 327 scientific sessions with over 450 hours in 16 halls, 50 International Faculty members from different nations will deliver the lectures,’ he added.

Moreover, the programme will comprise technical skill transfer course, surgical skill transfer course, instruction course, symposia, scientific papers, posters and videos, says a statement.

During the press conference, Dr.Namrata Sharma, Honorable General Secretary – AIOS, Dr.Rajesh Sinha, Honorable Treasurer AIOS, Dr.V.Narendran, Organizing Secretary AIOC 2018, Dr.Rodney J. Morris, Joint Organizing Secretary AIOC 2018 and Dr.Lalit Verma, Participated.
