2 TN Artillery Battery NCC, Coimbatore planted around 100 saplings at Stanes School Campus on Monday. This is a part of the larger vision of this NCC unit to sow 5000 saplings in Coimbatore.
Col. LCS Naidu, NCC Group Commander was the Chief Guest of the program. Founder-Members of Stanes School, members from its Management and Alumni Association took part. Lt.Col. Girish, SM, and Lt. Shyam guided the cadets.
Lt.Col.Girish, SM, said “We began this tree-planting activities on July 19. We have covered many areas that includes Kurumbampalayam area and Vellalorlake. We care for the saplings that we had sowed. We maintain even at these difficult times with pride. On KargilDiwas, we sowed these saplings in the memory of the Martyrs of Kargil War. Our cadets are also planting the saplings at their home, and expressing solidarity”.
“I am proud to say that our cadets are also at all border-checking posts in the districts to check e-pass of travelers, assist the police and districtadministration. Pepsi sponsored soft-drinks to us at the planting and it was also given to the personnel in duty at the check-posts”.
