SKCET develops indigenous hand sanitizer

With the demand for sanitizers hitting the cieling and prices exceeding normal retail price limits, Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology(SKCET) has developed indigenous hand sanitizer to protect the health of thier college community against COVID-19 virus.

Dr.J.Janet, Principal, SKCET along with Dr.V.Ragavi, HoD, S&H, Dr.M.Sangeetha and Mrs.K.Banupriya took up the social challenge to develop an indigenous hand sanitiser with the best mix of ingredients encompassed with 80% of alcohol and natural extracts as a sanitation measure to combat COVID-19, making the campus infection free.

Principal Dr.J.Janet, along with the Heads of various Departments introduced and demonstrated this hygenic indigenous product at the campus on Thursday.  An ‘Instructional Demonstration‘ was done for the non-teaching faculty and drivers on the right usage of hand sanitisers as an alternative to hand-washing.These indigenous Hand sanitisers are placed in all the prominent locations inside the campus inlcuding the reception, food courts, library, wash rooms and staff cabins of departments.

The Chairperson and Managing Trustee, Sri Krishna Institutions, Malarvizhi appreciated Dr.J.Janet and team for their efforts in launching  this novel hand sanitizer. SKCET has also carried out various hygiene measures to clean and disinfect buildings, hostels, classrooms and other amenities which includes surfaces such as railings, door and window handles, teaching and learning aids and water dispensers.
