Rathinam students receive awareness about Human Rights

The School of Commerce of Rathinam College of Arts and Science organized an exclusive one day training program on Human Rights sponsored by National Human Rights Commission of India (NHRC) recently.

V.P.Sarathi, Chairperson, Coimbatore Human Rights Forum, spoke about the beginning of human rights, whose root cause as world war. He elaborated on the Human Rights through a presentation. Advocate Thenmozhi, briefed about the Protection of Human Rights, Act 1993. She said that there is a good change in society with the involvement of women in various field but at the same time, she highlighted how their rights are violated in different occasions.

 

Latha Sundharam, Founder and Managing Trustee, Aram Foundation and Charitable Trust shared her experience.

Dr. K. Mangayarkarasi, Professor, Department of Women’s Studies, Bharathiar University, spoke about bonded labor issues, child labor issues and other general issues that involve Human Rights Violation. All the participants took an oath that they will not violate, and assured that they will uphold Human Rights.
