Grandparent’s Day at National Model Matriculation School

Grandparents are the roots of our tradition and heritage.  It is through them, our values are handed over to the next generation.  Their experiences and beliefs strongly affect our lives.  To honour the grandparents, National Model Senior Secondary School celebrated the Grandparent’s Day on recently.  The program started with a prayer song that invoked the blessings of the almighty.

Baby, Principal, National Model Matriculation School, addressed the gathering followed by welcome speech by teaching faculty,  Sornavalli.  To make the day lively and energetic, the grandparents were involved in a fun filled game of “Wheel Go” where the grandparents have to slide down the loop and pass it on.

There were also other games such as paper collage, laurel garland, colourful encounter and paper chase.  There were also fiery ball game and riddles to add flavour to the occasion.  In spite of the old age and hot sun, the grandparents enthusiastically participated and enjoyed the day.

The winners were also honoured with medals after each game.  After the fun part, the V and VI grade students sang songs of praise in three different languages as a token of love and gratitude.  The grandparents showered their blessings for the X and XII board students followed by oath led by Elakiya of grade XII.

Finally the vote of thanks was delivered by teaching faculty, Anandhi.  To conclude, the grandparents were invited to join us for the Ethnic Day at the CBSE campus.
