Rs. 7 Crores spent on dredging of water bodies in Covai

The measures to dredge/desilt and  maintain the Raja Vaikaal (a canal) that brings rain water to Coimbatore Periyakulam was green-lit by K.Rajamani, District Collector, Coimbatore on 9.7.2019. Social Activist S.P.Anbarasan was also present on the occasion.

In the following event post the inauguration of the maintenance measures; K. Rajamani said  that Rs.7 crores has been spent on the desilting/dredging  of water bodies such as lakes and pools in Coimbatore. He also extended his invitation to the farmers and public to jointly take part in this initiative. Taking into consideration about the water crisis that is prevailing in Tamil Nadu, he advised people to not let even a single drop of water that springs from the monsoon season.

Though not sharply struck by the water crises that other districts have encountered, Coimbatore needs to be ahead of its needs. This initiative will help the Coimbatoreans to reap the benefits of nature even better upon its completion. The support of youngsters in this regard will be of great help.
