ALERT NGO and ARC Foundation Sign Twin MOUs

National Service Scheme (NSS), Community Social Service (CSS) and the Department of Home Science Extension Education jointly Signed MOUs with ALERT NGO for ALERT GOLDEN ARMY and ARC Foundation for the creation of Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Rural Library in the adopted villages through Book Donation Campaigns on Friday in Hi Tech Seminar Hall.

Around 1250 books, were donated by the student NSS volunteers, and Pothys Textiles, Coimbatore donated around 500 Books.

The Inauguration of Alert Golden Army, Avinashilingam Institute Chapter was done when Bharathi Harishankar, Vice Chancellor inaugurated the programme and Kowsalya, Registrar, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women greeted the audience.

Kala Balasundaram, Founder Trustee – ALERT NGO presented Founder’s Address. She spoke about accidents and the immediate response expected from the public in the Golden Hour to save lives. Vasugi, Dean, School of Home Science delivered Welcome Address. Kalaiselvi Senthil, Assistant Dean, Sponsored Research of Avinashilingam Institute and NSS Co-ordinator Radha and Programmes officers of NSS and CSS were also present in the meeting.

Karthik Venkatesh, Manager – Operations, ALERT NGO provided orientation about the duties of ALERT GOLDEN ARMY to make Coimbatore a district with socially responsible people to handle emergency situations to save lives at home and in society.

Jansi Rani, HoD (i/c), Department of Home Science Extension Education gave Vote of Thanks. Around 200 NSS and CSS volunteers participated in the event.
