Bharathiar University celebrated World IP Day 2023

In the commemoration of World Intellectual Property Day 2023, a Colloquium on Strategies for Patent to Product and Product to Market was organized by the Intellectual Property Rights Cell, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore on Wednesday.

The main theme of this year’s World IP Day celebrations is ‘Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity’. Parimelazhagan, Director of IPR Cell, Bharathiar University welcomed the gathering.

The Colloquium was presided by Prof. Lovelina Little Flower, a member of the Vice Chancellor Committee, Bharathiar University.

Arun Kumar, Managing Partner, iVyukti Business Solutions LLP, Coimbatore delivered the inaugural address.

Furthermore, recipients of patents and copyrights during the academic year 2022-23, were honoured. The felicitation address was delivered by Murugavel, Registrar i/c, Bharathiar University.

The Special address was delivered by the Guest of Honor, Palaniswamy, Deputy Controller of Patents and Designs, Indian Patent Office, Chennai. Srinivasan, Dean, Faculty of Science, Bharathiar University delivered the keynote address.

The colloquium had an interactive session, handled jointly by Palani Swamy, and Depy. Controller of Patents and Designs, Indian Patent Office, Chennai and Arun Kumar, Managing Partner, iVyukthi Business Solutions LLP.

The session had 145 faculty and student participants and the colloquium had a diverse interaction based on basic patenting procedures, research-based patents for process technology, revenue generation from patents, inventors and applicant relationships, industrial setup for patented products, funding support for start-ups, Government policies for Intellectual Property, interdisciplinary approach in developing IP etc. Sampath Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Sociology and Population Studies delivered the vote of thanks.
