SREC students invented Bio SIM

The students of Biomedical Engineering, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC), Vattamalaipalayam, developed the product Bio SIM with the support of faculty through the innovation Centre.

This product is being launched at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital by the Managing Trustee Lakshminarayanaswamy, SNR Sons Charitable Trust in the presence of Ramkumar, Chief Executive Officer, Dr Sukumar, the Dean of the hospital, Dr Ramkumar, Head ICU, Dr Alagappan RMO, Dr Karpagam, Head of Nursing, Poornima, Chief of Operations.

This was an initiative by the college to the development of a product in healthcare supporting the nursing and paramedical staff in the hospitals. Bio SIM is a smart monitoring system to continuously monitor the administration of IV fluids to patients in different wards.  This product continuously monitors the fluid level and gives alerts in the form of a buzzer, to the nurse station and also through the mobile app, helping remote monitoring when the fluid goes down below a critical level.

Dr Alamelu, Principal, Ganesh, Advisor, Industry Connect and Innovation, and Dr Ramamurthy, Head, Biomedical Engineering congratulated the team.  The innovation and incubation team from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College were also present and said that this product is being commercialized for use by the various hospitals through one of its incubateesTectzo Solutions on the campus.
