KMCH IHSR, the Department of Occupational Therapy and KMCH College of Occupational Therapy jointly acknowledged World Autism Awareness Day on Saturday at KMCH IHSR Campus.
An awareness program and Street play were organized by the Department of Occupational Therapy to give the right information and perception about Autism to the public community and parents. KMCH Chairman Dr Nalla G Palaniswami, Vice Chairman Dr Thavamani D Palaniswami and Executive Director Dr.Arun N Palaniswami, Dr.Murugan-Medical Director, Dr R.Ravikumar-Dean KMCHIHSR,Dr Prakasam Medical Superintendent Dr. Rajendran HOD-Paediatric Department KMCH, Dr. Umakandhan HOD-Paediatric KMCHIHSR, Dr.Shashidhar Rao-Principal KMCH COT, Dr.Pradeep, Dr. Sujitha Director AHS and Dr. Sukanya, were present at the event. Doctors Dr. Rajendran, Dr. Ashwath and Dr. Sathiyaseelan from the department of Paediatrics and psychiatry shared their knowledge with interaction.
Competitions were conducted and prizes were distributed to the parents and children on the occasion. Around 100 children participated and exhibited their unique abilities in various events such as Fancy Dress and Talent Show. In the end, Dr. Sujata Missal, HOD-Department of Occupational Therapy, KMCH Hospital concluded the event with a vote of appreciation.
