KMCH staff learn in an Innovative Way

Value based education to all professionals is the need of the hour and more so for the preparation of health care professional. The accredited 3T-IBHSc bioethics training program has been designed by  the UNESCO Bioethics chair (Haifa) to introduce Medical, Dental, Nursing and Health Science teaching faculty of Universities and Colleges to teach the modern Vertically Integrated Bioethics Curriculum . The Program was organized by The Tamil Nadu  Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai & The Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council , Chennai  along with The Indian Program of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics (Haifa) at KMCH College of Nursing recently. The Course Director, Professor Dr Russell D’Souza, Head & Chair Asia Pacific Division UNESCO Chair in Bioethics (Haifa) and  his  dedicated team of  doctors  were involved in training the 148 delegates  from 44 College of Nursing.

The valedictory function was conducted at KMCH College of Nursing which was presided over by Dr.Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman and Managing Director, KMCH, Coimbatore. The chief guest on the occasion was Dr.S.Geethalakshmi, Vice chancellor ,Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University. Dr..Thavamani D. Palaniswami, Managing trustee , Kovai Medical Center Research and Educational Trust also spoke about the need for ethical practice.

During this program Dr.Anigrace kalaimathy, Registrar , Tamil Nadu Nursing council was installed as the UNESCO National Nursing Bioethics Chair ,India program . Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman & Managing Director, KMCH has been  appointed as the chair of Bioethics Unit and Dr. S. Madhavi, Principal, KMCH College of Nursing has been appointed as the Head of the Bioethics Unit by  Dr.Russell De Souza ,The Asia Pacific UNESCO chair  of Bioethics (Haifa).
