The NSS Units of Dr.NGP Institute of Technology organized a campaign to promote the awareness of AIDS, among the public in Coimbatore.
This program was held in association with Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club, Coimbatore, as a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The campaign was flagged off by the college Principal S.U.Prabha along with Professors C. Chinnaraj, M. Senthil Rajan, P. Chandrasekar, S. Dinesh Kumar and the students of the college.
The Principal in her speech said the Red Ribbon was the worldwide symbol of spot and awareness for people living with HIV/AIDS. The rally started around 02.30pm from SITRA Junction, and concluded at the college entrance. The participants of the rally used handmade posters, slogans and flex prints to spread the message of aid awareness among the public.
