If you don’t love yourself, who will? -Swarnalatha at DJAME’s Corporate Connect

“Start loving yourself. If you don’t love yourself, who will?” said J. Swarnalatha, Disability Rights Activist, Founder & Managing Trustee, Swarga Foundation, Coimbatore at the Corporate Connect event of D.J. Academy for Managerial Excellence, recently.

This program from the Academy is an Industry institution Interaction Initiative, and Swarga focused on the theme ‘’Rise from Nothing to Something’.

She has worked with multinationals like Mitsubishi, AXA, ITC and Audi. Through Swarga Foundation, she started Sarathi, Tamilnadu’s first transport facility for people with disabilities and senior citizens.

Swarga Foundation also made police commissioner’s office, railway station and 10 government schools in Coimbatore, wheelchair friendly. Sowkhya Physiotherapy Centre, their flagship project has provided free physiotherapy services to more than 7000 patients since its inception in November 2018.

Swarnalatha, started the session by creating an awareness of what is Multiple Sclerosis disease, its symptoms and reason behind this disease. Then she took the audience through her professional journey and the achievements in it. She also narrated the problems she faced in her life and a few incidences that have transformed her into a disability rights activist, singer, photographer, motivational speaker, a beauty pageant winner and a short story writer.

The session was followed by a Q&A session. Students and Faculty members of DJAME and other institutions took part in this interaction initiative.
