High & Low heartbeat is dangerous

– Dr.M.Lawrance Jesuraj, Interventional Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist, KMCH

Our hearts should beat between 50 to 100 beats a minute. It should not go down or exceed this limit. Normally when we are involved in physical activities our heart beats fast. But in our state of calmness and rest (while sleeping or being still) if our heart beats too fast along with fatigue or giddiness, we are then at risk of Cardiac Arrythmia. To identify that, during such stressing times, an ECG should be taken.

An electrophysiologist identifies the cause of this instability and would recommend apt solutions. Even though Cardiac Aryythmia is a serious disease, on the bright side we have treatment modalities to completely cure it.

What is very important is that patients should never ignore any irregularities with their heart-beats. They should consult the doctors in time.
